BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS COOK BOOK READ ME INFORMATION
System Requirements
1. 4 megs of free ram ("COOK BOOK" needs 4 megs to run)
2. Color capable Macintosh and a 13" Color Monitor
3. Must be used with HyperCard 2.0 or HyperCard Player,
System Software 6.0.7 or higher,
and QuickTime 1.6.1 or higher.
INSTALLATION
Step 1. If the QuickTime 2.0 extension has not yet been installed, it must be put into the extension folder of your hard drive. The QuickTime 2.0 extension is located in the Utilities folder on this CD. Drag this icon to the system folder of your hard drive. If this extension already exists, replace it with the new QuickTime 2.0 extension.
Step 2. Drag the "COOK BOOK" icon (located on the CD) to your local hard disk. Do not drage the CD-ROM icon "COOKBOOK" to your local hard disk. You probaly do not have 536MB of free space.
Step 3. If you do not have "Hypercard" or "Hypercard Player" on your hard disk, follow the installation instructions that came with your Macintosh.
Step 4. It is preferable to set the memory size for Hypercard to at least 4096 (4 meg) if you are using 256 colors, and to 8 meg if you are using thousands or millions of colors. You can do this by selecting "Hypercard" or "Hypercard Player" and choosing Get Info under the File menu. A dialog box opens into which you set the perfered memory to the given specifications.
Step 5. If running Adobe Type Manager (ATM), please turn off this extension. A conflict with Hypercard can cause a problem with the font display. ATM can be found in the Control Panel of your Macintosh.
RUNNING THE PROGRAM
Double-click the icon "COOK BOOK" (that you dragged to your hard disk) to start the program.
